China Earthquake Relief - Please Consider a Donation to Those in Need
The recent earthquake in Sichuan Province, has struck a collective chord in all families who have adopted a child from China. Latest news reports have indicated that as many as 50,000 people have died as a result. I have listed a few organizations that are partnering with relief agencies in accepting monetary donations:
Spence-Chapin Services for Families is partnering with Americares to provide relief to those affected and is currently accepting donations that will be used specifically and entirely to provide relief to China during this difficult time. Donors can make their checks payable to "Spence-Chapin" and in the memo section should write "China Earthquake." Checks should be sent to: Spence-Chapin, 410 East 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128, ATTN: Development Office. Alternatively, contributions can be made on-line at http://www.spence-chapin.org/donate.html, with "China Earthquake" written in the designation section
In addition, Families With Children from China of Greater New York is partnering with Amity through it's orphanage assistance program
